Caylee Anthony case: Why Baez wanted the phone call suppressed…

I figured it out.  It wasn’t because he was talking to a notoriously slinky criminal who has inserted herself in more cases than James L. McIntyre.  It wasn’t that her “revelations” were going to be the pivotal argument in his defense.  It was because of his own words.  Right here…

No, no — you’re absolutely right and this is the smart thing to do, and there is nothing better to do than just come out and tell the truth.  If everyone would just do that it would save me a lot –

Then chatty-Cathy Robin interrupted him in the very moment of him revealing that his hypocrisy knows no bounds.  So I’d like to take a stab at how he was going to finish that sentence.

…it would save me a lot…

  • …of stress from being expected to act like a real lawyer.
  • …of paper because I have to keep delaying this thing by filing inane motions I know aren’t going to go anywhere.
  • …of time faking health problems to get out of hearings in which I know I’m going to get my ass kicked again.
  • …of having to run from Kathi Belich because she’s mean to me and won’t leave me alone.
  • …of money because I’ve almost ran through what I made off of a dead-baby’s pictures and selling bullcrap stories to Geraldo.
  • …of trying to make up a defense for my client by reading blogs and watching the news and reading Cindy’s crazy-assed letters.

But seriously folks.  Here’s the scoop on Robin Lunceford’s phone call(s) to Baez.  She says Maya Derkovic, the former OCSO prisoner who claims Casey told her how Caylee died and what she did with her, made up the whole story of Casey telling the “murder scenario” after she got to the pen and right there in front of Robin.  In fact, Robin helped her by “deliberating” with her (please be warned…Robin knows what deliberating means – so she says).  After 20 years in prison I would sure as shootin’ hope so.

Now, my personal opinion is this:  THAT part of Robin’s claims may actually be true.  I’ve never been real keen on buying what Maya’s selling.  The part that gets ludicrous is where Robin throws in that an “investigator” for the DA’s office was some how stupid enough to allegedly tell Maya Derkovic that:

  • he would fill in the blanks of her story for her (apparently to “make it work” ).
  • he didn’t care if Maya was lying.
  • she needed to pass on threats to Robin about how he was going to make sure they shoved Robin into permanent confinement or some such nonsense if she told anybody the truth.

That parts way out there!  Of course, Baez was all over this.  Like white on rice, ugly on an ape, Puerto on Rico, shit on a shingle.  Okay, so now we know what was said and it was….anti-climactic; to say the least.  Baez gets a career criminal who has a history of claiming she “knows stuff” who will testify that the other criminal who claims she “knows stuff” is lying and the result will be…something akin to King’s X on both sides – draw – love/love.  THIS needed to be kept secret!

But something else happened today.  Baez fired back at NeJame in response to NeJame’s Motion to Quash Baez’s application for subpoena duces tecum to try to get his mits on the TES volunteers’ information.  The Orlando Sentinel has reported this newest motion by Baez has accused Tim Miller and Texas Equusearch of “soliciting” the Anthony family and he has accused Mark NeJame of “complete and total obstruction” because NeJame allegedly approached David Lohr to be a ghost writer on a book he is considering writing in the future about his time with the Anthony family.

So…see!  We really didn’t need Baez to finish that interrupted sentence in that phone call with Lunceford in order to show just how infinite his hypocrisy really is.  All we had to do was wait and let him be himself.

Valhall.
