Would you like to send something for Kyron’s Wall?

Posted on July 26th, 2010 by Valhall

Well, you don’t have to be in Oregon to contribute to that Wall of Hope that steadily grows.  If you would like to contribute your thoughts in a letter, or send a memento, you can do so from anywhere in the world.  Simply send your gift to:

Kyron’s Wall
c/o Brooks Hill Historic Church
11539 NW Skyline Blvd
Portland, OR  97231

One nice thought is to help contribute an origami crane toward the goal of a Thousand Cranes of Hope for Kyron.  You may view an instructive video here that helps you make an origami crane.

Valhall.

Thnx Val, I have wanted to send something but
thought it not the best idea to send directly to
the family. Wrote it several days ago and saved
it to be printed. Guess I knew in my heart you
would eventually provide an address.

Please remember that Dateline NBC will be featuring Kyron tonight. It airs at 10E/9C. They have a very touching promo of tonight’s coverage on this case.

Thanks for the info Val. The Wall is beautiful and sad at the same time.

Val, I don’t know where this should go, but it is another child about whom to be concerned.

“Rimrock, Arizona: Syler Newton, two years old, went missing last night from an Arizona campsite. Wearing only a diaper, the little boy was last seen sleeping in a tent with family at the Beaver Creek Campgrounds in Yavapai County, Sandy night.
Family of the little boy are distraught over the disappearance of their baby. The mother of the child is in the process of adopting Syler. Rescue workers and authorities were called to the campsite when Syler was discovered missing from the tent around 1:45 am. He was last seen at midnight when they bedded down for the night. Syler was asleep in a sleeping bag, only to find him missing less than two hours later. Calling 911, after briefly searching the area, the boy was nowhere to be found.
Syler is wearing only a diaper. He has sandy brown hair, blue eyes, 3 feet tall and about 20 pounds. His biological mother is being contacted. If anyone in the Yavapai County area sees a boy matching that description; please contact authorities – 928-771-3260.” Fox Arizona

My question is HOW? How does a 2 year old rustle around and unzip a tent without notice? Who else was in the tent with him, and are they really heavy sleepers?

Boy, that news footage shows the area drenched in rain. Poor Syler, if he’s still out there in that.

How far could a 2 year old toddler travel in less than two hours, in the dark?

I wonder again, were the custodial mother and grandmother heavy sleepers or just drunk?

My children or grandchildren would never get out of the tent without me knowing, whether I was inside the tent or out.

Gosh, many more questions come to mind.

Did Syler cry in distress, and no one heard him?

Did someone enter the tent and take him?

Was he asleep when they put him down at midnight?

Has he ever sleepwalked?

Watched the Dateline tonight, was quite thorough, and focussed well on Kyron and his parents, all three of them.

Valhall, thanks for the reminder about the cranes. I have a package of Japanese origami paper somewhere and will find it now. Haven’t made a crane in some time but it’s not difficult, only takes a little practice at first, if I remember right. We should make a wall here with a photo collage of the cranes, before they are sent off to fly with the rest for Kyron.

I seen this story and thought maybe the bio mom had picked him up.
I still can’t believe that they would leave him in a tent without an adult.
There are wild animals out in this part of the country. Seems the bloodhounds keep losing his scent. Maybe someone aducted him. Both adopted mom and grandma were given Polygraphs. I would hate to guess where he could be. Will keep up with it tho and let you know.

George here is a link that explains some things that may be suspect.
But I think we need to use the Just for Chat topic.
Val, may be upset we used this topic for posts

Ah, see, I didn’t realize that Val’s older entries continue indefinitely to be available for posts. I mean, I know that they are, however, they die down rapidly once she writes something new, so I figured as long as a post is still on the general topic of “Missing Children” that she wouldn’t mind it appearing in more recent threads.

I thought “Just for Chat” was removed because I missed it the other day when scrolling through, but do see it today. I must have missed it in haste and because it is so relatively small compared to other issues.
