To Techmom, Marica, etc. very excellent point. I live in Portland, and those roads out Skyline way are indeed curvy, a little tense in terms of curves and ups and down, your speed needs to adjust constantly -and quite frankly, a tad stressful for the driver -not only is it not the place to sooth an infant earache, but also not (as someone mentioned somewhere) a place to drive and chill and get your piece of mind together after [the horrible thing you just did]...just a hiding place, if anything.

The problem with the doctor's appointment being the following Friday is that the day Kyron went missing was the last day of school. Why would TH tell the school about a doctor's appointment that was to occur a week after school was out for the summer?

if DeDe was truly helping TH: yes it could be that she is her lesbian lover and could have assisted in something malicious, however she sort-of seems like the hippie-type to me and seems to have little respect for authority as she walked out of the GJ with that grin on her face.
I was thinking that TH, since she seems to be a compulsive liar and an attention-seeking narcissist, probably told her close friends some big lies about Kaine's treatment of Kyron. Once she was caught up in her own web, she couldn't very well admit the truth when a dear friend persuaded her to get Kyron out of that environment. In fact, TH probably enjoyed very much the plotting of the kidnapping.
I was having trouble thinking of any motive and scenario that would place Kyron as both alive and safe. until i saw George's comment above about the underground child protection. and i agree with George that TH wouldn't necessarily think of this to get Kyron out of the picture while keeping him safe. however, her friend/s WOULD after hearing TH's big fat lies and TH would be happy to immerse herself in the further drama; continuing to play the martyered SM at the center of attention.
This is just my wishful thinking. I hope for Kyron's safe return.

Way to go Terri... """IF""", baby had an ear ache, the drive
on those mountain roads would do nothing bu cause
her more pain!

Terri is driving around the back roads because the baby has an earache. So does this mens the baby was with her when she took Kyron to school?
An ear ache can indicate some serious problems. Why would she just cruise around, and not take the baby to a walk in clinic at the very least?

———

This makes absolutely no sense to me. No wonder LE has been investigating her whereabouts that day.
If your baby is not feeling well because she has an earache, you give her Tylenol, or you take her home and snuggle her in bed, or you take her to the doctor……driving her around in a car on rural roads for an hour and a half and THEN dropping her off at the gym daycare while you work out for an hour and THEN finally going home is beyond hinky.
Plus, rural roads, at least in my mind, are bumpy, curvy, and have lots of stops and starts. If you really want to soothe your baby in the car, you get on the freeway and drive without stopping for a while until they fall asleep. Rural roads, to me = baby waking up repeatedly."

I took a look at all those roads on Google Earth, and they aren't just rural, but up and down mountainsides. With the constant change in elevation, those roads would be the last place to take a baby with an ear infection.

Awesome, Val. I thought it had some very interesting information and explanations regarding the $350,000 Terri gave her attorney for her defense of which Kaine may now get half, why DeDe's appearance at that GJ was significant, why she was silent, what her probable plans are for cutting a deal, and who the only people are who can attend a GJ hearing.

If DeDe takes a plea agreement, which sounds likely, this case could be broken wide open, or at least give investigators much more solid leads/evidence. Another article I read said that DeDe hasn't spoken with Terri recently, since LE really came down on her, and now her sheriff father is involved in guiding her. I don't think she's about to go down for Terri's crime, and if she is involved, sees a plea agreement as a way to greatly lessen her own prison sentence.

The thing that really, really, *really* bothers me is that according to Capt Bruce McCain in this interview, her plea would be given "at a later time"... which would seem to me to mean that any information she has is probably not time-sensitive insomuch as getting Kyron out of the hands of abductors and back home. It *could* be... but it is hard to imagine someone being so cold-hearted as to wait for weeks to cut a deal so that any helpful information that could get Kyron home alive and well would be put far behind saving her own skin.

Following is transcription of interview by CO Mom:

Some interesting information from Capt Bruce McCain, Multnomah County Sheriff (ret)
in his interview on FoxNews’ Happening Now this morning:

Interviewer: We want to start off with this friend, DeDe Spicher, she’s the one who
went before the Grand Jury, why are police focusing on her now? What does the Grand
Jury hope to find from her?

McCain: Well Jenna, this has all developed since you and I talked about this issue
yesterday. DeDe Spicher did appear pursuant to a subpeona to Multnomah County Grand
Jury, but according to her lawyer she did not answer any questions. And I think the
significance there is that, as we’ve talked about before, some of her own conduct,
both on the day Kyron disappeared on June 4th, as well as some of her activities in
relation to Terri since then, have raised some questions by Kaine Horman and the
Youngs. So she was subpeonaed, but more than likely what happened is that she
probably invoked her 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination and she’s
probably going to be working out some type of an immunity deal with prosecutors in
exchange for compelled Grand Jury testimony at a later date.

Interviewer: Now she hasn’t been named as a person of interest, neither has the
stepmother Terri, they also have not been named suspects. Do you think it’s moving
in that direction, though?

McCain: Well Grand Juries are in the business of doing one thing Jenna and that’s
handing down indictments. So they’re obviously at the stage of probable cause for
the District Attorney to start presenting their case to the Grand Jury. Oregon, like
most places, has a secret process, the attorneys are not allowed in there, only the
D.A., seven jurors and a witness. Most of the evidence will be coming in the form of
afidavits from investigators as well as testimony from police, relatively few
civilian witnesses like DeDe Spicher. So yes, it is significant, it’s showing
progress is being made, but all the talk about an imminent arrest I think may be
premature, but I think a better descriptor is ‘inevitable’.

Interviewer: So there is another side of this story that is coming up as well, since
we last spoke yesterday, which is this matter of money. And this goes back to Terri
Horman, the stepmother, hiring lawyers and supposedly, according to the father of
little Kyron Horman, paying them $350,000 dollars. Question is, where did she
actually get that money? Why could that be important to this case?

McCain: Well again Jenna, that came up in a filing after you and I spoke yesterday
and this in the context of the civil divorce case. What makes this very, very
interesting here is that that money is reportedly in the trust account of Terri
Horman’s criminal defense lawyer. Normally that would not be used for diverse
purposes, but apparently he left himself exposed as the attorney of record in the
divorce proceeding so Kaine’s lawyer is saying, “Look, your Honor, if that is a
borrowed money from somebody, a person or a bank, that’s a marital asset, and my
client, Kaine, is entitled to half of that.” It’s putting Stephen Howze in the
position of having to explain, “Wait a minute, that’s not for divorcing, that’s for
a criminal case that doesn’t exist yet”. That’s going to be very difficult issue.
Practically, it may have the effect of cutting Terri Horman’s defense budget in half
and transferring that money to Kaine. It also brings another opportunity
for Terri Horman to be dragged before a judge under oath sometime in the near
future when the criminal investigators can’t touch her right now.

Interviewer: Now that’s an interesting “follow the money” on that. Real quick here,
just a final question, you know the sheriff’s department has only been speaking with
the press, really through email questions, now they’ve set up this press conference.
What do you expect to hear?

McCain: Well I expect frankly here locally it’s about six weeks of pent up
frustration being unloaded on whoever the unsuspecting guys are at that podium.
Handling things by email has not been very effective. Frankly, they’ve not done a
very good job of feeding the Beast, or the media, and they’re holding this press
conference by the way, they announced this last week so I really don’t think you’re
necessarily going to see something big and breaking, but we’ll see at two o’clock
Pacific, but really you’re going to see six weeks of pent up frustration unloaded on
those poor guys at that podium this afternoon.

Interviewer: Alright, if the past is any indication of a pattern, Bruce, then I’ll
talk to you tomorrow. Bruce, thanks for joining us today and we’ll keep everybody
updated on the developments here.
