Until Lynn Terry with The Oregonian released an article yesterday on OregonLive.com quoting Jaymie Finster, a close friend of Terri Horman, we had virtually no insight into what was going on between law enforcement and the stepmother of missing 7-year old Kyron Horman. But The Oregonian article confirms some things that many have been speculating. In that article the friend of Terri Horman states Terri will be taking her second polygraph test today; and the friend states Terri is “not very happy about it”. The friend goes on to state that Terri is “tired and frustrated with the intensity of the questioning she’s been getting“.
Friday law enforcement had a brief press conference and released a flier and questionnaire that many believe centers on Terri Horman as much as it does Kyron. Law enforcement explained they are trying to jog people’s memories about anything they (or their children at the Skyline Elementary) may have seen during the day of June 4th when Kyron disappeared. When law enforcement was asked if Terri was a person of interest (POI) Multnomah County Sheriff department Captain Gates replied “Terri is the last known person to have seen Kyron before he disappeared”. This statement appears to negate rumors that many thought were from legitimate sources early on in the investigation stating that an unidentified person saw Kyron at the Skyline Elementary school at 9 a.m., 15 minutes after Terri Horman states she left without Kyron. I should say it either negates that account, OR that person saw Kyron leaving with Terri…which would make both the 9 o’clock sighting as well as Terri being the last person to see Kyron true statements.
Finster states that Terri has told her what Terri did that morning after dropping Kyron off at school. Finster also states Terri has told her that the rumor that Terri told Kyron’s teacher, Ms. Porter, that Kyron had a doctor’s appointment was true but that she told Ms. Porter that the day before Kyron disappeared. Terri allegedly told Finster that she had told Ms. Porter on Thursday June 3rd that Kyron was going to have a doctor’s appointment on June 11th. Finster gives further insight into what Terri is stating concerning when Kyron did not get off the bus that evening.
Finster said that when Kyron didn’t show up at the bus the afternoon of June 4, Horman talked to the teacher who said she thought that Horman had taken Kyron to the doctor that day. Horman told Finster that the child’s teacher was new, in her first year of teaching, and was hard of hearing in one ear. “She doesn’t know if she understood her,” Finster said.
