Linda Tinelli was interviewed by OCSO on December 14, 2009. Linda became involved with the Anthonys by volunteering to man the Kid Finders’ command center tents. She states Holly Gagne asked her to continue to assist with those command centers. While Linda doesn’t really have any earth-shattering information to provide, the questions asked of her by OCSO are very interesting, and appear to give insight into information law enforcement was made privy to during their investigation. I would like to center on the very strange questions Sergeant John Allen and Corporal Eric Edwards asked Linda. John Allen and Corporal Edwards are apparently reading these questions from emails or other types of documents they have in their possession.
1. Did he [Dominic Casey] ever and I’m looking through some emails that ah, email exchanges between Dominic and other people, who are helping him in regards to this investigation. Did he ever talk to you about hitting the big..let me read from here. “The big boys and girls at the top of the trafficking escort Medicaid fraud scheme..scheme and ah, these people be, these people singing.”?
2. Did he ever talk to you about Casey enjoying a lifetime club and getting in too deep and having to um, to get out of this lifetime club. Ah, and get herself into protective custody?
3. Um, did he ever talk to you about George molesting Casey?
4. Did ah, Dominic ever mention to you that or say to you that ah, he had made this story up [apparently the Puerto Rico story] to trick Jose Baez because Baez was demanding information?
5. He ever say to you that he made up a story about ah, let’s see here… Caylee was flown on a private jet from Orlando Executive Airport to San Juan Puerto Rico. And held there until plans were made to take her out of the country to Columbia? She was then taken across the border into Venezuela to Porta San rosa, near Porta Cumma (Inaudible)… Knowing there would be no extradition or investigation possible due to the prevailing diplomatic situation. No other details can be released until such time Caylee can be positively identification and an extraction is in play?
6. …none of them [Dominic Casey, George Anthony, etc.] ever says that they knew that she had been flown by private jet to Puerto Rico and then to Venezuela…or having an extraction in play?
7. Um, how about ah, anything about major drug transaction with a Puerto Rican mob with ties to Fusion?
8. Um, and you never heard either one of them [presumably Dominic Casey or George Anthony] say anything about.. let me find it here. About coming up with something to trick, to play a trick ah, no one ever said something about playing a trick on, on Mr. Baez? Making this up ’cause he’d gotten money?
9. He [Dominic Casey?] never talked to you about Geraldo [Rivera] going to Puerto Rico and, and providing money [to] anybody?
10. Did anybody ever talk in your presence about book deals or movie deals or getting money for pictures?
These questions, and the statement by the investigators that they were coming from communications between Dominic Casey and others, give the appearance there was a great deal of playing against each other between the defense team and Dominic and the defense and the Anthonys during the early months of the investigation. But the “play” does not seem to be Dominic and the Anthonys working against any specific defense strategy. In fact, it appears the Anthonys and Dominic were (using George’s term) “brainstorming” stories to create (in the words of John Allen) a “red herring many hundreds of miles away”.
At the same time, there is the implication that at least Dominic was attempting to create the appearance he had information that he wanted to sell to Baez because apparently he (Dominic) knew Baez had access to the large sum of money from ABC Casey had received for the pictures of Caylee. What is not clear is whether the Anthonys were also in on the attempted selling of this Puerto Rico/Venezuela evidence. Dominic may have been playing both sides against the middle on this deal by misleading the Anthonys into believing he had true intelligence on the Puerto Rico/Venezuela story while trying to extort money from Baez for the intelligence.
However, the only problem with the assumption the Anthonys did NOT know that Dominic was trying to sell the information to Baez (if, in fact, he was) is that it appears the investigators have this information from communications between Dominic Casey and some other individual or individuals. So if the communications are not with the Anthonys, with whom would Dominic have been discussing creating this story to obtain the funds?
It is a very interesting series of questions that appear to come from extant statements made between Dominic and SOMEONE…question is – who is the someone?
