So Casey’s indigency hearing took place yesterday along with two or three real OMG moments reported on the news, so I thought I’d just compile my own questions along with some that have come out in the awesome discussion that took place during and after the hearing. So here are my top 10 questions:
10. If Todd Macaluso just got disbarred by the California bar because it was determined he stole trust money from his clients AND Todd Macaluso gave $70,000 to Casey’s legal fund, did Baez et al. just blow through stolen funds?
9. If Andrea Lyon has a clinic that raises donations for poor people’s defenses AND Andrea Lyon contributed $70,000 to Casey’s defense from that clinic while Casey had her blood money, did donors get misled about where their contributions were going?
8. If Jose Baez took over $89,000 for lawyer fees (not costs) BUT Jose Baez didn’t keep records of billable hours, exactly how did Jose Baez determine he had earned $89,000+?
7. If Cecilia Holloway (aka Skye Benhaida) was in OCSO jail from August 2008 through January 2009 AND Casey Anthony wrote 50 letters to another OCSO jail inmate during some period after her October 14th, 2008 incarceration is Cecilia “Skye” Benhaida-Zenaida Holloway the inmate with the letters?
6. If Jose Baez talks a top-gun lawyer like Cheney Mason into joining the pro-bono dream team AND then the first day with the new team member’s in court, if Jose is asked if he is lead counsel for the defendant and he answers “*shrug**shrug**shift**sideways glance* for all intents and purposes”…does that mean Mr. Mason told Jose that the only way he’d join was for Baez to let him take over as defense lead?
5. Did the man from the JAC who was on the phone yesterday play the teacher on Charlie Brown? Because they sound just alike.
4. Did Jose Baez misspeak when he answered he began representing Casey Anthony on June 17th, 2008, or does somebody have a LOT of ‘splainin’ to do? (Follow up on this one: If Jose Baez can object to his own testimony can he also declare himself a hostile witness???)
3. If Henry Lee once accepted oranges for payment, AND the trunk and the Gatorade bottle show the presence of limonene/turpenes, which are present in orange oil, does this mean Henry Lee is a steroid junkie and he tainted the trunk when he was gathering evidence???
2. If Mr. Sheaffer is correct and a “confident lawyer” makes a more confident defendant, does that mean an over-confident grand-stander makes for a defendant that gets TOO confident and slips up?
And my number 1 question is…(drum roll please)
1. If Jeff Ashton is “ignorant” (as some claim Cheney Mason called him in court yesterday) does that make Jose Baez a sock-suckin’, soup-slurpin’, mouth-breathin’, knuckle-draggin’, booger-pickin’ moron?
Inquiring minds want to know.
