Wow Sammie. Lot's of stuff to think about in your comment and your experiences.

Do you in some way think that Casey too is a narcissist - more than Cindy? That's the feeling I get - one power struggle against another. With Caylee as the prize. It seems even in death they are still fighting this battle.

Good comment. Hope things have worked out for you!

I've been reading Val's blog since the beginning and posted for the 1st time a few days ago. I had written a little piece on Feb 22, 2009, after Caylee's Memorial. I have not posted it on the net or shared these thought with anyone until now. I think it may shed some light on Casey and Cindy's dysfunctional relationship. I am the product of a narcissistic mother myself and this post is an attempt to decode, word for word, Casey's statement to her mother regarding Caylee's memorial service.

Here's what I wrote :

I've been lurking forever and a day. Thank you for letting me hang with you all. I'd like to share some thoughts with you, if I may, and if my post offends anyone, I apologize in advance....I've been haunted by this case, the Anthony's and the evidence surrounding Caylee's death. Casey's only public statement, released the day before Caylee's memorial, is telling. I believe she was saying much more then she intended to....I've posted her statement and in parenthesis, I've attempted to read between the lines. Here I go.....

I miss Caylee every day and every minute of every day ( I lost a part of myself when I killed my daughter, remember Mom how many times you told me how Caylee reminded you of me when I was a little girl?). I can't be there for Caylee's funeral, but some day I want to go and visit her grave and tell her how much I miss her. I allowed my parents to be in charge for the funeral for Caylee (Once more I attempted to trust my family to honor my wishes regarding MY daughter). I told them I wanted her buried in a casket (I gave Caylee a final kiss by placing a heart sticker on her lips, I wrapped her in her favorite blanket. I made every attempt to protect her from the elements and prevent her remains from being scattered by placing her in plastic bags. I chose a casket of white canvas with handles, so I could take her with me at a later time should I need to...I layed her to rest with her favorite toys and my favorite picture with those innocent and soulful eyes* ), and I wanted there to be a gravestone so I could go and visit her (I placed a towel at the burial site, near log benches so I could visit her in the place where I had escaped my family in my youth. I placed a paver to mark her final resting spot. I buried her in a sacred place where I had buried my pets, the only loving creatures that did not critisize, berate, nor emotionally and psychologically abuse me, but rather loved me unconditionally.) I asked them if there could only be a private funeral for just the family (I did not want to share Caylee with my family anymore. She is and was MY daughter, not Cindy's child). I know they cremated her (Dagnamit! If I wanted Caylee cremated, I would have stolen more gas and done it myself). I still don't want a public event with cameras and everybody around for Caylee's service, but I can't stop my parents from doing what they want. I truly hope that it will help them (Mom, when are you going to get the fact that she is MY daughter and I wanted more for her then the childhood I endured. No way was I going to let you do to my daughter what you had done to me....)

I've lost count of how many times on this forum and others that Caylee is in a much better place, maybe Casey thought so too....

Here's what I think Casey should do....confess, tell us all why, how, where and when she killed Caylee. This would not only spare her the death penalty, but she would finally be taking total control of her destiny. A confession would spare the tax payers of FL a huge expensive and lengthy trial. The sworn testimony of the Anthony's and those involved would be useless and open the door for LE to prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. When found guilty the Anthony's and their freak show accomplices would be forbidden from profitting from Caylee's death, because on some level they too would be responsible for the situation and circumstances surrounding Caylee's demise.

DISCLAIMER - I am not advocating for Casey, what she did was wrong and she needs to be punished, but she is not the only freak in this circus. I believe ALL involved should suffer the consequences of their actions, or lack of them...

I agree with Sally, I too do not believe that Cindy knew that Caylee was dead right away. Perhaps that chill of reality ran through her body for a fleeting moment at first but her mind immediately went into denial mode to preserve her sanity.

I believe the most telling evidence that Casey is a fearless, vindictive sociopath is not only the fact that she murdered her daughter but she drove around with Caylee's body in the trunk of her car for days not being afraid that someone would find it. I think this proves that once Casey murdered Caylee she was so happy that Caylee was out of her life that she totally put Caylee's existence out of her mind, at least until the horrible smell arose.

Steffiee --

I go with 2, 3 AND 4!!!! Honestly, I don't believe that Cindy knew Caylee was dead right away...THAT was denial. After that, I don't buy the denial defense. I don't believe she thought Casey was protecting the family. What a load of garbage is that!!! Can you imagine??? Your daughter is a total liar and you know she lies about everything and you are going to believe she is protecting the family??? No way...

Cindy knows Caylee is dead now. Why she's saying otherwise is creepy. She wants someone -- anyone -- to take the fall for Casey. They are completely warped.

You know, that's a good point I'd like to revisit: Cindy Anthony obviously knew with a certainty that there was no ZFG -- knew that was a Casey lie, and tried to figure out/concoct a scenario fitting someone of Casey's circle of friends as the "nanny/kidnapper."
Reasons?
1. Cindy is intellectually challenged and actually believed that Casey was "protecting the family" by both withholding correct information and by giving false information.
2. Cindy knew Casey was responsible for Caylee's disappearance and was stringing her along in the hopes of getting info out of Casey over time.
3. Cindy knew Casey was responsible for Caylee's disappearance, knew that Caylee was dead, and was desperate to find a story that would incriminate someone else and excuse Casey.
4. Cindy is not intellectually challenged but was psychologically and emotionally so unable to deal with the predicament of a missing Caylee and an arrested Casey that she repressed her reasoning abilities and denied to herself and the world that Casey could in any way be responsible...

Perhaps it's number 4. She can't really believe, as late as mid-year '09, that the remains are not Caylee's, right? You all remember reading about that? I just can't get over Cindy's inappropriate words and behavior.... I'd love to hear Cindy's explanation as to why Casey stole from Amy... it would probably be bizarre. 8O

'I don't want to lose another one"... As I recall Cindy yelled that after a camera person (or reporter) in a crush of vehicles got too close to Lee one day.

I'm no Cindy apologist, as a matter of fact she makes my skin crawl and I'd love to see her behind bars forever - but I'm pretty sure the genesis of that statement has nothing to do with anything regarding this case.

My memory could be faulty here but then again I could be right. 8)

Thanks again for the insight and the laughs. 'Princess Poopie-Pants' HA! I was watching Casey's face as well during the 'at this rate it will be five years after the event' comment and noted a look of surprise on the felon's mug. You would think the defense would be concerned about getting their client a fair and speedy trial. But if they know she will be in jail anyway because they realize she killed her daughter (and all they are concerned about is their involvement in a high publicity trial for the 'betterment' of their careers in law) then they can take their time and hope she doesn't get the death penalty.

For the rest of us, we are waiting for that one moment of justice when Casey's shoulders shudder and the tears flow after the death penalty ruling comes back from the jury. An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. Imagine Cindy's red face full of disbelief and rage and George's full of remorse.

I very much doubt that Casey was preggos before Caylee. Had she already resorted to having killed a baby, this would have been easier for her and she would have planned better. I mean, I could have come up with a better plan than this one while drunk and nodding on heroine! 8O I mean, how dumb do you have to be to go off of the deep end on the party train after killing your baby and then tell people that she had been kidnapped?! Also, how stupid to make up not just one person whole cloth, but a whole group of people and then place them in definite locations so that the police can easily check them out and find that they do not exist! Not to mention the whole driving around with the body in the trunk routine for even a few hours. Nope. She did not kill a baby before this.

Her pal was right and she made that whole episode up at the time.

Maybe the miscarriage was the result of something Casey did to end that problem. Thus the comments from Cindy and Lee. And of course no one would not know about that because they never mentioned it to anyone. Of course if this is the case it could never be proven and at this point I don't think it would matter much.

Casey committed this unthinkable act herself and she is the only one to blame. After reading all the facts and evidence in the case it appears that Casey's intentions were to get rid of her problem and move on with life as if nothing happened. I'm sure if no one ever asked her about Caylee she would have never uttered Caylee's name again.

Since parents are the most important role models that a child has, while growing up, we all have to take some responsibility in how we help develop our children because 'The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.'
