I have hesitantly added my Timeglider graphic timeline to the resources on the Library page for the Casey Anthony murder trial. I’m hesitant to share it for a number of reasons, so I’ll just list my caveats here.
1. It’s not finished. I just work on it when I feel like it.
2. The Timeglider.com software is free, so I’m not going to dis free stuff, but it is terribly glitchy in the interface, so don’t get mad at me if you get frustrated.
3. I made this not for really sharing, but just so I could work through things – see connections if you will. And it has helped me.
Some folks will take issue with decisions I’ve made on this Timeline, so I’m going to address those. Concerning the times listed for INCOMING calls to Casey’s cell phone. I have chosen the convention that the time listed on the released cell phone records for an INCOMING call is the termination time. There are many that disagree with this, and I’m stating right now I haven’t got clue which is correct. I chose the convention because if I declare it the initiating time there are far too many instances where Casey is making a phone call at the same time she is on a phone call. If you don’t agree, then just take the initiating time on my graphic timeline and move it up by the duration of the phone call. But don’t ask me to change it, because by and large it won’t make that much difference in the long run anyway. Casey tended to not answer phone calls, but let it go to voicemail and then either ignore the call or call them back. When you take that habit and added with there aren’t that many long duration incoming calls, if my decision is in error, it only has a minor negative effect to the accuracy of the overall timeline.
Concerning driving times listed. Yes, those are the times from a mapquest travel time. Yes, I know they are not accurate because they most likely do not take into account traffic load at certain times of day in Orlando. Just use them as a minimum driving time, or ignore them completely. Like I said, this was initially made only for my own use.
Now I’ll give a bit of “legend” in interpreting the graphic:
Green triangle means a data point known by Casey’s cell phone records.
Blue triangle means a data point known by computer activity.
Red triangle means a location data point for Casey (off cell phone pings, receipts or eye witness accounts).
Orange triangle means driving time.
Black triangle means uncertainty in where Casey is.
Yellow triangle means data associated with some one other than Casey (most times, Cindy, George or Lee).
Some helpful hints in navigating (that is if the software behaves):
* Click on an event and you can see the notes I’ve put in for that.
* Over on the right hand side you can click “Go To” and enter a specific date to go immediately to that date.
* You can use the right-hand sidebar to focus in on a smaller time increment.
* You can “re-focus” by using the top left tab and it will take you back to June 16th.
Some things I’ve noticed while constructing this timeline:
1. The “private moments” as discussed in a previous entry.
2. The spastic phone calls of Cindy Anthony that began on June 30th and went through July 3rd. This same time period has Cindy creating her myspace and openly stating her concerns about Caylee’s welfare. It also has Cindy phoning Lee and telling him to find his sister in Orlando (which proves Cindy knew damned well Casey was in Orlando), and lastly, but far more importantly, it shows that the “friend” of Casey’s who tipped her off that Lee was coming to talk to her was the same friend we’ve heard George and Cindy testify to in bond hearings, interviews with LE and sworn depositions to be Casey’s BFF – Cindy. I’m hoping to see prosecutors ask her why she tipped Casey off. To be quite honest, I don’t think it was Cindy trying to ensure Lee wouldn’t meet up with Casey, I think it’s just another instance of Cindy trying to be a bad-ass and probably calling Casey and threatening that “your brother is coming to get you and you’re coming home”. Anyways, it’s apparent in the timeline once you stack the ping cell data with the call data that Cindy is, in fact, the one who tipped Casey off.
Anyways, I hope it is useful to you and I look forward to having you share with me any observations you might make in this format that I have not yet noticed.
Valhall.
