A reader, Brenda, requested that I post concerning some spurious rumor that George might be Caylee’s father. I think this is a worthy subject to discuss, because the false rumor detracts from matters that are far more important to the case. The FBI DNA testing ruled Lee out, but apparently the “George is the father” rumor stuck well, because the FBI didn’t explicitly state he wasn’t. To give credit, Brenda did a great deal of work on the backside before contacting me, so I’ll quote what she shared here:
…I went and printed out a copy of the DNA Parentage Test Report of Casey, Caylee and Jesse (page 8850 of the evidence). I then went and printed out the Profiler Plus ID (page 8395) which has George’s DNA profile on it listed as K7-1. I also printed out the COfiler (page 8445)which also has George’s DNA profile on it listed as K7-1. I then went back to the DNA Parentage Test Report and substituted George’s DNA profile where Jesse’s is at the appropriate Locus locations from both the Profiler Plus ID and COfiler DNA profiles. Basically every Locus location is covered from the FBI DNA profiles except for 2 on the DNA Parentage Test Report, however there is one extra listed for Casey, Caylee and George on the FBI DNA profiles that isn’t listed on the DNA Parentage Test Report (D7S820). Anyway all I had to do was plug in George’s DNA profile into the DNA Parentage Test Report at the right Locus locations and right away you can tell that it’s not possible for him to be Caylee’s bio dad. Here’s a list that proves George can’t be the father: Locus D8S1179 bio dad has to be 12 George is 14. D21S11 bio dad has to be 28 George is 30. D7S820 bio dad has to be an 11 George is a 12. D3S1358 bio dad has to be a 14 George is 15,19. THO1 bio dad has to be a 7 George is 6,8. D16S539 bio dad has to be a 13 George is a 12. VWA bio dad has to be a 17 George is 18,19. TPOX bio dad has to be an 8 George is 9,11. D18S51 bio dad has to be a 16 George is 14,17. FGA bio dad has to be a 24 George is 22,25. The last one that is only on the FBI reports and not on the DNA Parentage Test Report is Locus D7S820 showing that bio dad has to be an 11 and George is a 12. I’m hoping that you could [put up a chart and] a story on your blog so people like me that can’t dismiss that notion without seeing proof can finally put the issue to rest too.
I’m not going to chart ALL of the alleles from the parentage test as Brenda worked through, because it only takes a small set to establish that Lee, George or Jesse aren’t capable of being the father of Caylee. So here is what we get when we put Caylee, Casey, Cindy, George, Lee and Jesse all on one COfiler table (results taken from parentage test and tables from the 10/09/09 discovery (page 56) and the 09/29/09 discovery (page 86).)
Okay, I have included the DNA benchmark Q18-1 from the hairbrush for Caylee as well as her DNA profile information from the paternity test in the first two lines of this table. Note that on the paternity test a second allele was picked up at D16S539 which didn’t come through in the DNA testing of the hairbrush. So Caylee is not homozygous at this gene locus (i.e. she doesn’t have two 9 alleles), she is actually heterozygous at this location (9,13). Now the way we look at what the father needs to return on these gene loci is to take Caylee’s alleles, look at what alleles Casey had to offer, take off the alleles from Casey, and we are left with the alleles the father had to contribute. I have done this in the last line of the chart labeled “REQUIRED ALLELE”. Note that none of the three men have the 14, 13 or 7 for D3S1358, D16S539 or THO1, respectively. In addition, George does not have the 8 for TPOX nor the 11 for D7S820.
Hopefully we can put these “incest” issues concerning Caylee’s parentage behind us and focus on real issues. A very special thanks to “Brenda Banana” for her hard work and for sharing!
