At the end of January of this year I ran on to a myspace that I believe was created by Casey Anthony. I first posted about this myspace at AboveTopSecret.com on February 2nd in this post.
Eventually I brought this myspace page up on Websleuths.com and member SuziQ was kind enough to begin a thread concerning it entitled Is Casey the Real Zenaida? Shortly before this I had sent a couple of emails to OCSO informing them of the website, because I felt this myspace could prove premeditation if it were, in fact, Casey. Why do I feel this may be Casey? Well, the reasons are numerous:
- * It was created on 06/16/08 – the last day Caylee was seen alive. It was last accessed on 10/14/08 – the day the grand jury indicted Casey for murder and she was returned to jail for the last time.
- * Birth Sign – Pisces. (Casey’s is as well.)
- * Location: Miami, FL (Casey kept emphasizing to her brother Lee that Miami was “definitely” a place to look for Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez.
- * Picture: Dora the Explorer dancing doll (Caylee had at least one backpack with Dora the Explorer on it. At one time it was rumored that a Dora backpack was found with the remains, but that rumor has not been proven out at this date. Also, in Cindy’s deposition at the end of July 2009, she stated that Dora was one of Caylee’s favorite videos/shows to watch frequently.)
- * A small plastic toy horse was said to have been found with the remains. Rumors flew during the search that there was an effort underway by law enforcement to determine if this horse was from a set. Dora the Explorer Disney sets include ponies. www.fisher-price.com…
- * The birthdate associated with the zenaida myspace is 02/19/85, which is 1 year and 1 month from Casey’s birthdate of 03/19/86. This is known because the age changed from 23 to 24 years on the myspace on February 19th of this year.
It should be pointed out that it has been confirmed the myspace was, indeed, created on 06/16/08. This is important because for some time there was speculation this could be a faked myspace where the creation date was hacked to look like June 16th. But due to the fact the URL for this myspace contains the myspace sequentially generated user number within it, and because the user number is deep within the user numbers for June 16th, 2008, it has been confirmed to have been created on that date. It should be noted that the URL not containing the name “zenaida” is the reason it was not hit against on forensic searches of the desktop for that term. In addition, and of extreme importance is:
- * The website was originally set up with the display name “zenaida” on June 16th and not changed afterwards.
- * The real name associated with this account also contains the name “zenaida”.
- * The website was originally set up with the Dora the dancing doll picture on June 16th and not changed afterwards.
- * No pictures have been added to the account since June 16th, 2008.
- * No blog entries have been added to the account since June 16th, 2008. (Although there is the possibility that the myspace had a blog entry created on June 16th that was subsequently deleted.)
How are these things known? Because by testing each change out it was confirmed that changing the display name, the user name, or the photo changes the “last updated” field of the myspace. If a photo is added, or a blog entry is added, it updates the last update field as well. And, even though the myspace was last logged into on 10/14/08, it has not been updated since its creation date of 06/16/08.
So why is this important? Because the 16th of June, when the myspace was created, is the last time (allegedly) Caylee was seen alive. And if this myspace was created by Casey prior to leaving the Anthony home, and prior to Caylee’s death, then it points at premeditation for the use of a story that Zenaida took Caylee. And the only reason Casey would need to create a Zenaida for the purpose of accusing of her of taking Caylee is if she knew “Caylee was about to disappear”.
Is there any evidence that Casey may have been on the computer the day of June 16th prior to leaving the Anthony home? Yes, there is. The Encase data released by OCSO on the Anthony desktop shows three periods of high activity prior to Casey leaving the area of the Anthony home.
Casey’s cell phone pings, as mapped out by a number of awesome sleuthers at Websleuths on this map, shows that Casey was at or near the Anthony home until approximately 4:13 pm on June 16th. So if the myspace was created anytime before 4:13 pm, assuming Caylee was still alive when Casey left the Anthony home, and it was created by Casey – this is premeditation. So when was the myspace created on June 16th?
The latest the myspace could have been created was 11:31 am PST (2:31 pm Orlando time):
Now to the question as to whether Casey could have accessed the myspace on the last log in date for the zenaida myspace of October 14th, 2008, the day of her arraignment on capital murder charges. In Tracy McLaughlin’s statement to OCSO in September 2008 Tracy stated that not only did Casey have accessed, and was frequenting myspace and facebook at the Anthony home during her home confinement (which had terms explicitly stating she was to not have access to a computer), but Ms. McLaughlin states Casey was spending her days at Jose Baez’s offices on the computer as well. Casey, under the excuse of “looking for Caylee”, was accessing myspace and facebook there as well, according to Tracy.
So a couple of emails were sent (by me) to OCSO at the beginning of the year in regards to this myspace. And, as should be expected, no response was received since this is an ongoing investigation. However, at the beginning of September, when several Websleuthers had spent a great deal of time looking over the myspace and we had concluded it was, in fact, created on June 16th, 2008, I sent a follow up email to ask if anything had been learned about this webpage. My fear was that my email had been “lost in the noise” of so many other tips and contacts during that time.
Though I still did not receive a response from OCSO (still understandable) a “source with a source” (or a second-hand source, I guess it would be) informed me and another Websleuth member that OCSO had, in fact, missed my first tip, that they were quite excited about it, regretful they had let it “fall through the cracks”, and were jumping through hoops, so to speak, to look into the myspace page. Less than 24 hours later, this same source informed us that the myspace had been investigated at the beginning of the year, when I had first emailed, and had been found to have “been created from an IP in southern Florida” and not connected to the case.
However, I’m not sure what to believe now…JWG an outstanding member of Websleuths had pointed out to me that in non-emergency situations myspace states it can take weeks to fulfill a subpoena request for data on a particular page. And this week, something happened on the zenaida myspace that leads one to believe it has been frozen for some reason.
A myspace page that is set up to require you be a friend prior to commenting has only one way to leave a comment if the person who created the website is unavailable (or unwilling) to approve you as a friend. That is through the “Videos” link:
By clicking on this link you can leave a comment on a myspace member’s video section (even if they don’t have a video) without being their friend. Two myspace members did so over the months:
However, sometime in the past 3 to 4 days, the video link has been removed from the zenaida myspace, and not only can these comments not be seen now, no further comments can be left.
In discussing this finding with a friend who is in law enforcement (and actually computer forensics, to be exact), I was informed that this is the first thing that occurs when a computer or a website comes under investigation. It is “frozen” from any further activity to prevent contamination of evidence.
Is this sudden change on the zenaida myspace an indication that myspace has received a subpoena and OCSO is pursuing this possible lead?
